You can normally register without providing documents.

No immigration proof needed

Registration questions

Can I register if I live further away?

We consider out-of-area registrations individually. You may apply online, but we may contact you before accepting the registration.

Please consider this carefully. Registering away from where you live can affect access to home visits, urgent out-of-hours GP care and community services such as district nursing, physiotherapy, maternity or mental-health services. We may recommend a practice closer to your home.

If you work nearby or particularly want to use our services, telephone 0161 736 1166 to discuss this with us.

Registering a baby, child or someone I care for

Complete a separate registration form for each person. Children under 16 are usually registered by a parent or guardian. A child’s red book can be helpful, if available.

You can also register someone you care for. The form will ask for your details and your relationship to that person.

I am staying in the area temporarily

If you are living away from home or visiting the area, you may be able to register as a temporary patient for up to three months without leaving your permanent GP practice. Contact reception to ask for a temporary-services form.

Will I have a named GP?

Patients have a named accountable GP, but this does not prevent you from seeing another suitable GP or healthcare professional at the practice.

I do not have a permanent address

You can still register with a GP. You may use a temporary address, the address of a friend or family member, or—in some circumstances—the surgery address. Please speak to reception if you need help.

Need help registering?

Contact our reception team if you need the form in another format, need help completing it, or want to discuss an out-of-area application.
