Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Kyla Barry

Kyla has been working with us since 2015, she runs her own clinics including some of the telephone triage clinics 3 days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday)

Advanced nurse practitioners, or “ANP” for short, are nurses who have done additional training that enables them to review and treat a wide range of illnesses. As they can prescribe they are invaluable in helping us to see our patients quicker.

Some of the conditions that Kyla can see you for have been listed below. Her skills are not limited to these conditions they are just examples of the common problems we see every day. Should Kyla feel your condition requires a GP review or follow up in the future she will arrange an appointment with you.

Nursing Team

Angela Boucher

Angela joined the practice in September 2020. Angela works on a Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. The practice nurse is responsible for reviewing our patients with long term conditions such as:

  • Asthma
  • COPD
  • Diabetes
  • Heart problems
  • Kidney problems

The practice nurse also sees patients for: cervical screening (smears), smoking cessation, baby immunisations, travel advice and immunisations.

Practice nurse services are still going ahead despite the Covid-19 pandemic and are being performed by a locum practice nurse.
